Founded in 1899 by Walter A. Messer in Portland, Maine, we started as a one-man blacksmith shop building wagons, sleighs, and ship ironwork. As trucks replaced horses, we evolved into custom truck bodies and equipment, upfitting vehicles from the earliest days of motor transport. Four generations later, we’re still here doing what we’ve always done: building tough, work-ready trucks and vans, now as Messer Truck and Van.
